Can We At Least Talk About Persecution? #StopSouthernKadunaKillings

Yesterday on Facebook, I shared a post that contained the gory pictures from the genocide allegedly carried out by ravaging Fulani herdsman on innocent villagers and families in the Southern (predominantly Christian) regions of Kaduna state.

Using the caption, "SOUTHERN KADUNA OOOOOOO!!! THEY ARE KILLING CHRISTIANS... WHY ARE WE SILENT OVER THIS BUT KNOW 10 THINGS ABOUT THE NEW RCCG G.O?", as I wondered why the news of this barbaric persecution is not getting the right attentions and reactions in the press, on social media and most especially in Churches.

To further buttress my worry, a friend and Gospel music minister, Solomountain commented; "To live is for Christ, to die is gain. As a christian u dont fight for your God but rather he fights for us. if he allows anything it is for a purpose he is the all-knowing God u can not tell him when to fight or to react. Trust me his plans and strategies are mapped out cos he is never to late."

I was quite let down by this reply, though he seems to be making sense, especially with the Bible verse in his opening line.

But this begs another question, WHAT IS THE PROPER REACTION OF CHRISTIANS TOWARDS PERSECUTION?

And yet more questions...

Should we fold our arms and watch while evil doers slaughter our own in the homes and sack them from their villages?

By creating awareness for our plights and suffering, does it mean we are rejecting persecutions? Knowing well that persecutions are just a necessary part of our pilgrims progress.

Can we at least pick up arms to defend ourselves while the enemies of our faith attack us?
Just as Nehemiah and the Israelites did while they were rebuilding Jerusalem's walls.

These are just a few questions that got me worried. I'm not afraid of persecution, but can I at least talk about it and help others who are more in the face of danger?

Someone should help me out here!
