"But he that had received one went and digged in the earth and hid his lord's money"
Whatever can be used to create economic wealth is Capital. It can be money, men or material. Nations invest in their people by education and training or retraining to make them able to produce excellent goods and services. A former president of the United States of America, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, once said, "our progress as a nation can be no swifter than our progress in education". The developed countries are the ones that invest most in the education of their children and skilled manpower training. This is why your parents also sacrifice to put you in school. They see you as the future leaders, investors and producers. You must not waste but account for the resources invested in you.
Moreover, God has given you talents which you must invest wisely. Today's text reveals the poor attitude of a servant who refused to invest the money he was given. Other servants did and made profits. The gospel is the Capital or money that Christ has given to Christians to invest in the lives of men. Are you winning souls with it?
CHALLENGE: Make maximum use of the Capital invested in you.
PRAYER: Help me Lord to wisely use my talents in Jesus' name.
