TOPIC: THE INCOMPARABLE GOD
Read: 2 Kings 18:32
No one is holy like the Lord, for there is none besides You, nor is there any rock like our God
(1 Samuel 2:2)
Sennacherib took the Living God, the Only One of Israel, for all other gods of other lands he had conquered to his detriment. He thought that he could deal with Jerusalem the same way he dealt with other nations with the small "g" gods. His militarisation and the worldwide influence and power at his disposal blinded him to recognise that there is a God in Israel, bigger than any other gods, on the earth. His word became his snare (vv. 32-35). If you have been singing this song Am serving the living God, am serving the living God. Am serving, the living oh a living, serving the Living God congratulations, if not, quickly join the league of the singers now, with total repentance. The living God is our God; He is mightier than all other gods (the hand works of men). The idea of rock in the memory scripture is anything that lifts itself higher, claiming supremacy and superiority over you. And the Bible says, "if you have faith you can command mountains to move". In another sense, rocks are from the ages, yet the oldest of rock is not comparable to God who has been from eternity and Himself is the originator of eternity and eternal life. The fact that some circumstances are belittling your God, and pictured Him as insignificant and incapacitated does not reduce, remove the power of God. What matters is your opinion; do you believe what the situation is saying? Hezekiah dispelled the false message of Sennacherib and got God to act. Every situation given false picture about your God, like Sennacherib, shall lose out in Jesus name.
1. Lord, continue to glorify Yourself, in my life, and let the unbelievers praise You on my behalf
2. Lord, help Christians to overcome every challenge coming from people of other religions
3. Oh Lord, exalt Yourself just as You did when You destroyed Pharaoh and his chariots.
