Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional 18 March 2022 By Dr. D.K Olukoya – The Believer And The Fruit Of The Holy Spirit (I)

TOPIC: The Believer And The Fruit Of The Holy Spirit (I) (Mountain Of Fire and Miracle Ministries, MFM Devotional 18 March 2022)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Numbers 7:1-65, Luke 2:21-40, Psalm 35:1-10

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Galatians 5:19-25 (KJV)

19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

MEMORY VERSE: “I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.” – John 15:1-2

An Unproductive Christian life is a deficit to heaven.

Take praise and worship songs as led by the Holy Spirit.

I decree fruitfulness into every area of your life, in Jesus name.

Mountain Top Life Message:

Every believer has been called into a life of fruitfulness in Christ. This is evident in the memory verse of today. These fruits are the result of abiding in Christ, who is the Vine, while we are the branches.

We cannot afford to be unproductive; else we risk being cut off and cast into the fire. In the same vein, the productive branches shall be further pruned to bring forth more fruit. This refers to the fruit of righteousness, as we are the planting of the Lord (Isaiah 61:3).

These fruits are products of our Christian work, our labour of love. Above all, the fruit of the Spirit is the product of our spiritual relationship with the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God the Father and God the Son. Here, the Bible is referring to the mind of Christ and His attributes. No wonder, it is one fruit with nine components, which are individually peculiar, yet intertwined. That is, you cannot have one component without the eight others. It is either all or none!

Strongly opposed and contrary to the works of the flesh which make men candidates of hell (v.19-21), the fruit of the Holy Spirit is what qualifies you as a true child of God, joint heirs with Christ and a candidate of heaven. The fruit of the Spirit includes: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self- control (also called temperance), according to Galatians 5:22-23 (NKJV).

This fruit is not optional in the life of a Christian. It is unconditional, if truly you are God’s own. It is quite different from the gifts of the Spirit. One is free, while the other requires your efforts to possess and manifest it. The Holy Spirit gives the gifts freely to everyone to profit (1 Corinthians 12:7). However, you must be ready to work and cultivate the fruit of the Spirit. As you labour to acquire it, one by one, you are taken through a divine process of shaping and transformation in the hands of the Lord, thereby becoming a new creature.

1. I destroy every activity of the flesh in my life, by the power in the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.

2. O God, arise and destroy the works of satan and his cohorts in my life, in the name of Jesus.

3. Let the word of God abide in my life richly and let it bear lasting godly fruits, in the name of Jesus.

4. Powers draining my spiritual strength, collapse and die, in the name of Jesus.

5. Holy Spirit, help me to grow daily by Your fruit, in the name of Jesus.

6. My life shall not disappoint heaven, in the name of Jesus.

7. Power to continually develop in the Spirit, come upon me now, in the name of Jesus.
